Beginning on a stern teacher rant
I hate to begin this way, but really, people!

I wrote for [info]merry_smutmas again this year and feedback was pitiful. Not just for my story (which due to the pairing, I didn't expect all that much) but for all the stories and the drawings.

There are 934 people who have friended the fest.

    WHERE IS THE FEEDBACK?

I'm hearing sighs of complaint that so few writers are writing. Not like the good old days, I hear.

Well, maybe people are tired of writing and not getting any recognition.

It doesn't have to be a lot. A "Wow!" or a "I liked that." is more than sufficient.

I know that we are innundated with fic at this time of the year. Yuletide alone produced over 2000 stories. There are thousands of people reading and writers there go gaga when they get twenty comments. *TWENTY!*

You want people to keep on writing? Well, indicate that they are writing for a reason.

Stop sponging off writers. You're getting this great fic for no charge. You don't even have to belong to the fests to comment. Feedback takes maybe 20 seconds if you have dial-up.

Sheesh. I lecture my students almost every day about common politeness. Just because this is Cyberworld doesn't mean that politeness is not part of it. Please and thank you are still the basic signs of a civilised culture.

    Go read. Go enjoy.

    AND LEAVE FEEDBACK!!!!!!

BTW: may 2008 bring you joy, happiness and all the fic you want to read (on the condition that you leave feedback!)

    Hugs

    End of stern teacher rant.

It was absolutely amazing. It deals with the physical consequences of surviving both the Dark Lord and Death.
